Bolzano

We made our first trip to Italy with our first stop in Bolzano.
Bolzano is a unique flavour of a city at the crossroads between
Italian and Austrian cultures.
It was the perfect place to stop and enjoy the 18C weather
while drinking lattes and walking the city tourist sights.

Walther Square,
with a statue of Walther von der Vogelweide

walking through Walther Square

the Gothic Cathedral, started in 1184 and completed in 1382

the Lauben, a mile long street in the city center
with medieval arcades along its entire course,
now housing countless high street shops

the city consists of a mix of old and new cultural art

famous markets include Italian AND german foods, such as
breads, cheeses, meats, wines

along with flowers, arts, and crafts

after running 40 laps at Walther Square,
the kids found a great place to put up their feet.

smiles all around!
Ok, back to the car and off we go to Venice.
