'Tis the Season to be jolly!
Another year has come and gone. And this past year hit different.
Thinking back over the year to important milestones,
funny mishaps, hard lessons learned,
things that made us smile, laugh, cry, stop & think.
~ These are our favorite memories of the year ~
- Island Life. A year has come and gone and the move to the island is absolutely everything we expected and hoped for. Beach walks along the ocean. Trees as tall as the sky. Ocean sunrise. Ocean sunset. Even the rhythm of daily life vibes differently here. Yes, it does sound pretty dreamy, but it really is. Come visit!
- Bella turned sweet 16 and started driving. They call it a learner's license for a reason; she might be that reason. We are super proud, however, stay off the sidewalks ...
- Offline. First family vacation: post-pandemic travel restrictions. Tofino! Beach on repeat + cozy cabin in the woods + tacos, tacos, tacos ( if you know, you know) + fire pit barbeques = many memories made.
- Christmas 2020 was celebrated in July at Wakaw Lake, SK. The best gift a grandparent can receive is togetherness. Goodbye virtual hugs, it's time for reconnecting. Family is essential.
- We couldn't let a summer go by without a visit to the Okanagan. We missed our friendships, people. Life is better with friends! And what a wonderful welcome back it was.
- The runway is back! Bella walks at Vancouver Fashion Week SS22 and attends Faces West Model Convention in November where she places first in Sports Runway Competition.
- Hockey is back! "It's good to be back at the rink again" - said every hockey mom this season. Brax travels on a team bus, away from home, without mom. They forget to tell you that the hardest part of motherhood is when your youngest kid grows up.
- After being laid off twice, Jaime returned back to work at Air Canada. Hello/Bonjour!
- Team BC brings home gold. Jason attended the WHL cup as lead evaluator & video coach for Team BC. I must admit, he looks pretty damn good holding trophies. Canada Winter Games 2023?!
- We are surviving a world pandemic; physically, mentally & spiritually. What. A. Wild. Ride. Some moments were rough, however, some moments were not. We are healthy. We are safe. We are happy. We are right where we are meant to be; where everything feels right.
It's not about how many times you fall,
it's about how many times you get back up.
Officer: "Yeah, that's not how a field sobriety test works ..."
Cheers to you & yours this Christmas & always!
Wishing you a holiday season full of joy,
happiness & togetherness
Jason, Jaime, Bella & Braxton
