Christmas Day in Canada

Good Morning, Good Morning!
Santa made his way to our house,
and I reminded him to eat the cookies before bed.

first one up and first one to the stockings

lil man right behind

he stopped unwrapping gifts after he
opened up his first pair of skates

"Look Mom, Santa brought me pinky-pie pony,
I was good, I told you."

Christmas breakfast brunch at our house

dressed and off to the farm for dinner

The kids were so happy with all of their gifts

visiting with my Baba Oleksyn at the nursing home

cousin Hailey and Bella

what a wonderful way to spend christmas,
at home surrounded by our families.

Christmas Eve in Canada

Finally, finally, finally - a christmas holiday at HOME.
Always as tradition, we are on our way to
my parents house for a traditional ukrainian christmas eve feast.

Enjoying the eats!
Everyone is so full that they cannot even smile.

Secret Santa game.
Can you believe my mom stole a Tim Horton's combo from me?
And at christmas time yet?

Preschool Xmas Concert

Bella's preschool had a christmas concert.
They sang all your favorite christmas songs.
It was very, very sweet.

Rock'n around the xmas tree

Just like every other year, I had plenty of helpers
when it came to decorate.
My lil helpers did an awesome job
and made it very memorable for a mother who has OCD.
Brax only dropped 4 christmas balls and Bella only broke 1.

Our first tree in Canada!

Baba could not wait for the kids to come over
and help her decorate her tree.
Funny thing, when I was a kid all the decorations on
the tree had to match....
Apparently not when your a grandma.

He was much more careful with baba's decorations.

Come on over to the Beckers for a xmas drink....or two!

When we moved into the house back in May we simply
ran out of time to have anyone over for drinks/bbq.
What a better time to have friends over than for Christmas drinks?
And what a night it was.

Some of my ladies

the wine was plentiful and so were the jello shots

Becker Family Christmas Greeting 2009

Wowsers, did 2009 fly by for you? It definitely did for us! Between the moving, packing, unpacking, unpacking, unpacking, working, night-class, kidlet activities, hockey(how did hockey sneak in there), we did not see December coming! Although life has been keeping us very busy, we have been enjoying our time back and the time shared with families and friends.

I went back to work for Scotiabank part-time and then full-time. I can hear the GASP from you all. Yes, full-time! I am actually enjoying it. After quite a few years out of the work force and trying to perfect my mother/wife duties it was time to give my family a break and get out of the house.

Bella is enjoying preschool, swim lessons and cheerleading. The cheerleading has got to be the cutest activity a little girl can be involved in! She absolutely loves it. They learn how to do cheers, dance, stunts, etc. She has also become a teenager overnight. She cannot leave the house without glitter and lipgloss, her tights, socks, shirt must match. Yes, she loves to be a girly girl but you ask any of the boys at daycare and they will tell you that she can also give a good body slam.

Brax is just something else. He is this little boy that I cannot wait to see when I wake up in the morning or when I'm having a bad day for the simple reason that he is the happiest little man on earth! He always has a smile or a giggle and his hugs go without words. He is very attached to his sister and gets very upset when she leaves him behind when she scoots off to school. He even thought the one afternoon that if he found himself a backpack he could come with her to school. My heart broke as I had to tell him no.

I mentioned adjustments, right? There has been a rumour going around that Jason has taken a coaching position in Prince George. Completely, totally true. Just like that, we are back in the hockey life. It wasn't something we were looking for, it was something that found us. We talked about it and to be honest there wasn't really anything to talk about, we were all missing the hockey life even being out of it for such a short period of time.
I said I'd never be a coach's wife. Never say never,
I am proof of that.
Well, that's our family in a nutshell for 2009.

Wishing you and your families a safe and Happy Holiday,
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
The Beckers

Prairie Fire Cheerleading

Yes, cheerleading.
They start at age 4.
Bella would basically throw herself to the
ground when I mentioned registering her
into Ukrainian dance school.
Ok, I get that most of you would too,
but the difference is she doesn't even
know what it is!
So, they had a try-out for cheerleading,
show up and see if the kids like it.
She loved it. And still does.

They even begin "stunts" at this level.
Bella is at the top.

their timing is a little off, but practice makes perfect.

look at that, they all clapped on count 8.

Trick-or-treat

Although every year we took the kids out
trick-or-treating to the other imports
apartments in Germany,
this year was the REAL thing.

Happy Halloween from the Kitty and the Lion.

it just had to snow on Halloween

off they go, first house

not shy at all when it comes to candy

look at the loot!

Pumpkin Patch Kids

Off we went to the Pumpkin Patch maze.
The kids had a blast.
They also just had to pick a
pumpkin before they left.
Each of those little pumpkins they are
holding cost $4.99 each.
Just a few blocks up at the Extra foods they
were selling them for $1.99.
hand in hand, off they go.

it was a great set-up.

Braxy turns 3.

Can you even believe that he is three?
That tiny little baby who came a month early
is tough, rough and will blow your house down!
Happy Birthday Big Man.
Excited about the cake, shy about the camera.

with mom and dad

enjoying the ball pit

did the other kids sink?

Bella and Ava

everyone helping Brax open his gifts

ok, that's enough.
These are MY presents.
