Christmas in Penticton

Christmas break came December 20th
and we were on the road to Penticton December 21st.
We were all SO excited to head down to Penticton to spend Christmas with the Sanches.
I grew up spending most Christmas Eves with my cousins
and I was overjoyed to start up this tradition again.
It was long overdue.

ROAD TRIP!!
And that it was - the roads were terrible!
It took an extra 2 hours than we predicted but we
were greeted with smiles, hugs and wine.

The kids hit it off - Jordyn and Bella were like two peas in a pod
and enjoyed eachother's company skating at the nearby rink,
helping out with the twin babies, and playing for hours.

The boys - Brax and Jesse
Hockey, Hockey and one more Hockey!

Hitting the Slopes!
Trish and I took the kids skiing at Apex Mountain Resort

 It was a feast.

The twin's first christmas.

So THANKFUL and truelly BLESSED.
First and foremost - thank you again to the Sanche Family,
Shea, Trish, Adam, Jordyn & Jesse.
You welcomed all of us into your home and it was
so much fun. It really felt like "christmas" to have our families together.
We ate, we drank & drank some more and we laughed.
Thank you to Aunty Darlene & Bruce for cooking up a traditional,
ukrainian dinner  - for days on end.
We ate like kings and queens - you did an amazing job.
Thank You Rene for travelling across two provinces with twin baby girls
so we could all share a part in your babies first christmas.
Last but not least - Uncle Rod. You slept where there was a free couch,
there was plenty of noise from  kids at all times -
and none of them were yours and your personality
certainly shined through and entertatined us all in true fashion.

Merry Christmas to ALL our family & friends.
Wishing you all a wonderful christmas to be thankful for too.

Becker Family Christmas Greeting 2013

We had a fantastic 2013.
Kids, careers, activities, travelling, socializing - 2013 kept us busy,
as I'm sure you all can relate!

We opted out on a destination vacation this spring/summer and headed back to Saskatchewan for a summer vacay. We spent a few weeks at Wakaw Lake and commuting back and forth to Saskatoon to catch up with friends and family. Time flew by us – way too quickly, but we are so very thankful we got to visit and see as many friends and family that we did.  Once again, we left the kidlets behind at the cabin for a few weeks to spend time with  Baba & Gigi Rogalski and Jason and I became honeymooners again. We spent some time in Penticton visiting with the Sanche Family and friends and drank ridiculous amounts of wine while touring a few wineries in the Okanagan. When in Rome…..

Bella has turned into a teenager overnight and she’s only 8. For her first day of school, she tried on 4 different outfits. She blushes about boys. If I say yes, she says no. One minute she is joined at my hip and the next I can't do anything right for her. She is growing up so fast and I can't keep up with her. She is growing into a beautiful, well-mannered, talented girl. I enjoy her enthusiasm and her effort as anything that is put forth in front of her, she does it well. She is taking private- riding lessons (opposed to being part of the Pony Club) this year with a horse named Raz – it was love at first sight. She is back in the gym working towards a badge with the Prince George Gymnastics club and enjoying every minute of it.

Braxton is all creativity and spunk. I love the creativity - except for when he uses it to talk back or get himself out of trouble. It's hard to discipline someone that is so darn amusing! He always has something to say and it is usually quite interesting - his teachers & hockey coach will agree.  He is my scholar. He asks for math homework to take home on the weekend. He loves everything about school - we have been blessed with fantastic teachers. He is my little man and on special events, he wants to wear a tie. He doesn't shake your hand, he greets you with a hug.

Jason continues to keep himself busy as the assistant coach with the Cougars, amongst other things. He is involved with the Alumni Cougar golf tournament held in July, runs his own hockey skill/development defenseman schools and recently shaved his head for charity. We didn't see  much of him in November due to the schedule and road trips but he made it home just in time to hang the Christmas lights, attend the Festival of Trees breakfast with us as a family, take Braxton to a few early, early morning hockey practices and shovel the driveway.

Jaime has her schedule booked solid! Nothing different from any other year. The kids activities are time-consuming especially as they get older. But I manage to always schedule in friends, exercise and wine. I started a new job as an administrative support assistant in May for ScotiaMcleod and love everything it has to offer. The hours, the work and the people.  I  enjoy going to work everyday, I'm very lucky.

From our Family to Yours,
Wishing you a Safe and Happy Holiday Season.
All the best in 2014!
Jason, Jaime, Bella & Brax

We finally got a snowblower

This will shock most of you - I have finally convinced the hubby to purchase a snowblower. Yes, after 3 winters of shovelling he has caved and loosened the "purse" strings. The neighborhood is also in disbelief as Jason always gave good reason why he chose to shovel – "It’s great exercise",
 "I enjoy spending time outdoors".
Jaime & Neighborhood 1 - Jason 0.
And now he can enjoy spending time outdoors without having a sore back the next day.

Goodbye Lucious Locks!

"If the Prince George Cougar "Movember" team raises $2500, assistant coach Jason Becker will shave his head."

Not only did they raise over $2500, they were in the top ten CHL Movember teams.
Goodbye Lucious Locks.   I loved that hockey hair.
And it will grow back.

Festival of Trees Gala

November in Prince George means that it is time for the
Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation’s – Festival of Trees!
The Todd Prosser Group buys a table and we attend the Gala together.

Every year  the Civic Centre is transformed into a holiday wonderland of dazzling displays, carefully adorned trees, Entertainment, lights and fun – and this year will not be any different. The Festival is also a fundraising event and all of the proceeds generated are used to support and enhance healthcare in our communities and at UHNBC.

This year’s Gala event, with 325 people attending, raised $425,195. The generosity at this evening was outstanding and is helping Spirit of the North bring the best of care, close to home, for Northerners!

Green is the color, Football is the game!

Roughrider fans are patriotic and CRAZY.
We call our hoodies "bunny-hugs", we wear watermelons on our heads
and -20, that's nothing...it's short-wearing weather for us.
But anyone from Saskatchewan is proud to be from Saskatchewan.
We are proud football fans.
We put on green, gather together to eat, drink & cheer!

So zip up your bunny-hug, raise your glass and give cheer
to the 2013 Grey Cup Champions!
Way to go Roughriders!!

Happy Thanksgiving!
We were very fortunate to spend thanksgiving with our
neighbors we refer to as family.
The day ended perfectly with a family walk.
The weather was record breaking warm and the view was beautiful.
