Becker Family Christmas Greeting 2014

2014 – New Adventure.

This summer we relocated to Penticton, BC.  Jason accepted a head coaching position with the Okanagan Hockey Academy.  We sold our house in Prince George in one day and bought a home in Penticton in one day – it was meant to be.  Although we miss our  Prince George friends, we are adapting to the Okanagan life quite nicely.   Penticton has been very welcoming and we are very fortunate to have family in the Okanagan to share holidays and free weekends with.  The kids have adapted so quickly after the move.  They are happy, making plenty of friends and both doing exceptional in school - like I said before, it was meant to be.

Bella is all about the socializing.  She was sad to move and leave all her Prince George friends, but after her first  week at a new school she was already booking afterschool hang outs, phone dates  and sleepovers with new friends.
She thinks homework is a bore and a waste of time because it has nothing to do with One Direction or Ariana Grande, but she is starting to adust being in grade 4 and to it’s expectations.  She continues to enjoy gymnastics and looks forward to continue horse riding in the new year.

Braxton has become the family’s brainiac.  He is doing excellent in school and  there are some areas he is excelling a few grades ahead!  He walked into his new classroom with confidence and also made friends instantly.  One of his best buds is his cousin Jesse who is in the same class.  I don’t doubt for a minute having his cousin in his class helped him adapt so well to his new surroundings.  Brax loves his new minor hockey team.  He cannot wait to go to hockey - not only because of the hockey but to also hang out with his hockey buds.

Jason continues to enjoy this hockey life and everything involved with coaching.  He has more responsibilites as a head coach but he welcomes the challenges.  He is coaching a varsity midget team. Although he is still away alot, he will be home at christmas for 2 weeks when his team goes home for their christmas break.  We are excited to have Jason  home to spend family time together - attending some of Brax's hockey games and ski trips to Apex Mountain Resort.  Recently we found out from Brax that Jason can never coach for the Montreal Canadians - because he doesn't know how to speak Spanish.

Jaime’s  schedule has not changed one bit, if anything it has became busier!  I drop kids off at activities left, right and centre, but thankfully Penticton is quite small so it doesn’t take much time to get anywhere.  Patience do need to be thick as nobody drives the speed limit  and when I say “speed” – don’t be confused……no one is doing any of that around here,  as everyone drives under the speed limit of 50.   I transferred back to the bank side of the Scotiabank Group and am working part-time, as well as back at the gym training to kick-box, in a rink cheering on Brax and at the gym watching Bella on a beam – all of where I’ve met and made some great friends already.  This transition has gone very smoothly.  Can't complain, well only about the
drivers.

Wishing you a Safe and Happy Holiday Season.
From our home to yours,
Merry Christmas & all the best in 2015!
Jason, Jaime, Bella & Braxton

Festival of lights

Festival of Lights in Summerland.
Hot chocolate, Egg nog lattes, gingerbread cookies, family night.

O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree

The kids decorated their very own tree.
Tons of color, no mom allowed, Bella Bossypants.

All I want for Christmas

"All I want for Christmas are my two front teeth"

Penticton Minor Hockey

I think we may have a goalie in the house.
Brax and every other kid on his team last year wanted to be the goalie.
No different this year.
After he played in net back to back games,
I had to admit I saw this natural talent.
It's time to give in, this goalie thing might not just be a "hiccup".

Okanagan November

November in the Okanagan -
15 degrees, walks by the lake and still no parka.

Bella and Randie

Our first Prince George visitors to Penticton.
Bella and Randie have been the best of friends since kindergarten.
Thank You Sherry & Randie for the visit,
it was short but sweet!
We look forward to our next visit.

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween from the black cat,

Braxton turns 8

To the guy who has a love for hockey, the world of science
and quite the imagination - we are so proud of you.
You remain to keep us on our toes but still enjoy
your mom's hugs and snuggles.
Happy 8th Birthday to Mr. Braxton!!

7th Man on the Ice

So excited for my lil dude!
At the Penticton Vees home opener -
Brax was chosen as the 7th player.
Not only did he get introduced and skate out with the players,
he got to ride the Zamboni during first period and wave to the crowd.

If you watch Sportsnet, TSN or ESPN - you would have seen or heard
about Mark Donnelly the Vancouver Canucks National Anthem
singer who tripped and fell at the Vees Home Opener.
Braxton happened to be on the ice when this all happened.

Many mixed emotions - excitement for a new hockey adventure,

Penticton, BC - Relocated

Welcome Back.
We relocated to Penticton, BC in August.
We have been busy unpacking, unpacking & unpacking.
We bought a place walking distance to the beach,
and have explored our new surroundings with afternoons at the beach
and evening walks with ice cream cones in hand.
Our new house is now a home and we are all settling in.
Penticton is certainly a beautiful place to live.
We get to live where people choose to vacation.
It's now the end of October and we are still in our flip flops
and the kids will trick or treat with NO forecast of snow!
Enjoy the updates.

Moving day was a success.
Now to unpack - Sigh.

Phase 2  of the move - Decorating.
My favorite part of moving into a new home.

Look what I got in the mail!
I'm very blessed and thankful for such wonderful friends.
Near and far.

Reunited

It was great to see a longtime friend.
We met a "few" years back when our husbands who were then our
boyfriends,  played together in Germany.
We don't get to see each other often,
but I'm glad we have kept in touch.
I'm hoping someday this hockey world places us closer.

Home sweet Home

Home sweet Home!!
After several days of nonstop unpacking,
it was time to explore our new surroundings.
At the lake, on an evening beach walk,
with an ice cream in hand.

It's not Goodbye, it's See ya later

Bella and Brax had a "Going Away" party in Prince George
before the big move away..
What a wonderful way to say goodbye
to friends from school, activities and the neighborhood.

Thank you Prince George - it was a fantastic 4 years!
I won't miss the snow or the winter,
but I'll certainly miss the people.
Irreplaceable.

Wakaw Lake Break

For the past few summers the kids have spent time at Wakaw Lake.
This summer, was like no other.
The kids went a few weeks early in July
so Jason and I could pack and move.

Tubing with the Toths!

Friends at the lake.
The kids look forward to seeing their friends Maddix & Kaz.

I had some downtime soaking up the rays.

Cloudy day, off for a round of mini-golf!

I hope the new owners enjoy this home & neighborhood
just as much as we did.
Goodbye Prince George House.

NHL Draft

Jason finally made it to the NHL draft.
He has always wanted to go -
especially since he entered the coaching world.
Now, there is quite the story that goes along with this trip.
Keywords: late, lost, ANGER, Walmart, phone-a-friend, best, wifey.
He enjoyed the coach's conference he attended, along with the draft itself.
Bucket List: CHECK.
