Becker Family Christmas Greeting 2016

Dear Family and Friends,
What a wonderful year it has been for our family.  We are so thankful for all of our blessings we continuously receive!

The kids get bigger and better. These ages are my favourite. Independent, charming, full of happiness, full of personality, full of humour - full of life.  I'm living in the moment and taking it all in. The teenage years are just around the corner......

Bella. She's the perfect dose of me, him, sassiness, love and stubbornness.  She loves everything middle school has to offer, especially the socializing.  I remind her on a daily basis how lucky she is to have such "cool" parents. She smirks.  She could have disagreed and she didn't. HA!  Her new hobby is babysitting - she completed her babysitters course in October.  She is saving her money to buy a cell phone.  Apparently, she is "like the only one of her friends who doesn't have one".  Life is tough for this one.

Braxton. What a charming, confident, little gentleman. Opens the door for his teacher, reminds his mother how pretty she is and still sleeps in his sister's room. His heart is so big and his smile is even BIGGER.  He passes out hugs like they are going out of style.  Life is very simple with him - smile, make friends and play hockey.  This apple didn't fall far from his father's tree.

Jason and I continue to enjoy this wonderful Okanagan life full of hockey, friendships and sunshine. Life continues to be super busy, sometimes I feel like I can't catch my breath - but I wouldn't want it any other way. Everyone is happy and healthy, I couldn't ask for anything more.
Life comes with struggles, it certainly isn't perfect and neither is our family by any means. But through the heart and spirit of our kids, I've learned to see the happiness and positivity anyway.  If I can give my family anything, let it be that. In today's world, I think we can all agree we are in dire NEED of kind, compassionate, happy people.

Smile always. Laugh more. Eat the dessert. Buy the purse.  Skip the gym. Sleep in. Hug your loved ones.

Wishing you joy and cheer this Christmas and always.
May your days be merry, bright and full of love.

Much love from our family to yours,
Jason, Jaime, Bella and Braxton

New Beginnings - Penticton Vees

SO this happened......CONGRATS Jason!
Who knew the most fitting offer would come so close to home?!
It all happens for a reason.
Wishing you and the Penticton VEES all the best on the upcoming season.
  Super Proud.

The Penticton Vees Jr A Hockey Club is pleased to announce the hiring of Jason Becker as the club’s new assistant coach for the 2016-2017 season.

The hiring of Becker was necessitated by the unexpected resignation of Nick Fuher early last week. After 2 season’s with the club, Fuher has joined an academy in Winnipeg. Becker joins the Vees from the Okanagan Hockey Academy, where he spent the past two seasons. Prior to that, Becker was an assistant coach for the Western Hockey League’s Prince George Cougars.

After a five year Western Hockey League career as a defenceman, Becker would join the University of Saskatchewan Huskies for 5 seasons, before embarking on a 9 year professional career that would see him suit up in nearly 450 games, mostly over sea’s.  “When Nick decided to leave the club, we immediately focused on Jason.” said Vees President, General Manager & Head Coach Fred Harbinson. “Ownership afford me the opportunity to hire an experienced coach, and we didn’t feel the need to search elsewhere, or publicly state we were looking for someone, I felt right from the get go that Jason would be a tremendous fit for us.”

Becker, who calls Penticton home with his wife, and two children couldn’t be more excited to join Harbinson and the Vees staff. “I’m very honoured and excited to be joining the Vees organization. It’s a team filled with a rich history, and this is a very important season as we host the Western Canada Cup, I can’t wait to get started and meet the players.” said Becker.

Harbinson, Becker, and the rest of the Vees staff will welcome the newest crop of Vees back to Penticton in the coming weeks, with training camp opening on August 22nd at the South Okanagan Events Centre.
